THE Party!

Ava's 3rd birthday party was yesterday, and what fun it was! First, we had lots of friends and family join us...some from distant places. Chris, Samantha, and the kids commuted in on Saturday morning from San Antonio for the party! Carolyn (sister), Lance, Claire and Baby Noah trekked in from Canton on Friday night! I got to meet the baby for the first time! He is a cutie patootie.

They stayed with us overnight and we got up Saturday morning and had a pancake breakfast and started getting stuff ready for the party.

We hosted the party at Pump It Up, an indoor bounce house. We have never been before, and Ava had only been in a bounce house twice! I was a little nervous that she wasn't going to dig it, but she proved me wrong after a little bit of time! She had to warm up. Mike was the designated "fun guy." He was taking all of the various kids up and down the slide ladders or down the slide etc. Poor thing was sweating so much...it's a lot of work to carry a kid up one of those ladders.

After a while everyone, young and old, took to the bounce structures. Then before we knew it we were having a slide-a-thon! We went down as a family, so did my sister Carolyn and Lance, as well as Chris and Samantha...earlier Isaac, my nephew, persuaded Grandma Debbie to go down! Mike went with them and held on to her...she didn't want to do it.

Here is a group shot of almost all of the kids that were there...I think we were missing at least 2-3 from the shot. Bless John, our party floor manager, for getting all of the kids in on place for a picture. The ages ranged from 11 months - 7 years.

After about 80 minutes of jumping fun we headed to the party room for drinks, snacks, cupcakes and presents. I baked cupcakes for the party...vanilla with buttercream frosting. Then I made Mickey, Minnie and #3's from chocolate for the toppers.

Ava got a lot of great presents from her friends. Here are a few snaps of some of them...

At the end of the party everyone was all smiles, and some looked a little tired! :) We loaded up the car and I gave cupcakes and treat boxes to the Pump it Up staff. They really did a nice job of getting us from one place to another.

Happy 3rd Birthday Ava! Mommy and Daddy hope you had a great time "Pumping it Up!"
